All persons over 4 years old know that smoking of any kind is bad for your health, and drinking can pickle your liver (I won't get into the social/family aspect of alcohol or alcoholism--those of you who grew up around an alcoholic parent/s know the painful reality of that).
So why is pot illegal, but alcohol not?

While Ms. Crow sports "War Is Not the Answer" t-shirts, and thinks up insightful jewels like the one quoted above, she apparently had no problems with lobbing bombs at Saddam when W.J. Clinton was in office.

What about Kosovo/Bosnia during the Clinton era?
All for it.
In fact, she was known as "Hillary's Sidekick" while overseas.
Neither of these "actions" were performed under UN "resolution" or mandate" for which so many of these over-paid, highly scrubbed, nipped and tucked elite seem to be endlessly looking.

As if a "resolution" or a "mandate" from the UN is a magic bullet that suddenly makes everything "moral" (that's a bitterly angry essay for another time).

While sporting their $600.00 Versace sunglasses, $5,000.00 Gaultier thong, and a $900.00 hair cut, they complain bitterly about capitalism, and how it is ruining the world, and the environment, and blah, blah, blah... and kills little kids, and makes the tsi tsi fly extinct, and... zzzzzzzzzzz...blah....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..blah.......

Am I the only one who notices that these ethical morons are flying in first class (or private jets) to these socio-fascist fundraisers and rallies? Does anyone notice that they sport their over priced clothing and jewels while claiming to know what's best for the down-trodden?

Most Islamic leaders feel that the people who died on Sept. 11 deserved it. Many Muslims danced in the streets in Middle Eastern countries, laughing and celebrating the deaths of thousands. To these people, you are not a person if you are not Muslim.
Muslims, amongst themselves, are very fair, honest, and peaceful. But among "infidels"or "kafir"--read "non-Muslim"--anything goes.
They are free, according to Muhammed, to rape, murder, torture, rob, and enslave any who are not following the way of Islam.
It's right there in the Qu'ran.
Pull out a map. Look at any country that has a large Islamic population. You will see that (especially in Western countries) problems begin once the Islamic population reaches a certain point.
Look a the Phillipines, Indonesia, etc.
Terrorist activities such as bombings, kidnapping, and homicide martyrs begin rearing their heads. Muslim leaders begin campaigns of disinformation toward Christians, Jews, and polytheists. They begin screaming about "discrimination" and people become afraid to face them down and call them on their lies and half-truths for fear of being called "racist" or "bigoted" against Muslims and/or Arabs.
Don't be taken in.

I just thought I would take a few minutes to reflect upon the UN and all the wonderful things that they stand for:

The UN is this huge gathering of compassionate nations that believe in human rights for all (hey, they appointed Libya as the head of the Human Rights Committee didn't they? That means they obviously have a sense of humor).

They believe in International Day of Disabled Persons, Universal Day of Children, World Food Day, World Day for Water, (hee, hee) Disarmament Week, and International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People(which was going to be International Victims of Terrorism Day...but, I think you can see the conflict here, so they chose the most important of the two).
All these little treatises on "goodness", "moderation", and "love" are proof that the UN is a benevolent organization.
Isn't it?
That they took the time to sit around, collect outrageous salaries while aids burned up their word processors with these little lip-service resolutions proves that they care about the world.
It's not about what they do for you. It's how they feel about you.
And they care! They uphold your human rights.
Don't they?
Certainly.
As long as practicing your rights doesn't interfere with a UN mandate.

They believe in you. They care about you and your people.
The UN believes in all people living as one under the UN... or else.
They believe that mandates of the UN are to be followed regardless of what your country's constitution says.
They believe that the UN Criminal Court should be allowed to try US and other country's soldiers as war criminals if they participate in conflicts not sanctioned by the UN (really, what nation needs to decide what it's armies are best used for?).
They believe that your money (those evil dollars and pounds) should be used to feed people who hate you, who kill your fellow citizens because of who they are, who burn poorly made replicas of your nation's flag, who dance in the street when your countrymen die, who drag your dead servicemen through the streets, who kill aid workers that come to deliver them food purchased with your money and grown by your countrymen.
It doesn't matter that these people are hungry because they are too caught up in killing each other for obscure tribal causes to learn new methods of crop growing, irrigation, and rotation.
It doesn't matter that they are too busy replicating to realize they can't feed the children they have before they create new ones.
Why should they try to help themselves? They have you to rely upon. They don't need to better their countries, or even try to better themselves.
The UN will take care of them.
The UN has created the largest and most expansive welfare state that could have ever been dreamed.
It is feeding, clothing, and supporting the armies and ruthless dictators of shit-hole countries that want nothing more than to see the deaths of innocent people.

As it should.

And as a good American, your tax dollars are going by the billions to suppor these benevolent ventures.

All that matters is the UN cares.
Doesn't it?
They UN wants a perfect world, a loving world. A world of free everything for everyone.
So open your wallet. Surrender your freedom and power for self-determination to the UN.
They know what is best for you.
Who else would have stood by and wept while thousands were killed in Bosnia and Rwanda, refusing to lift a finger?
Who else would welcome baby killers with open arms and bursting hearts of forgiveness?
Who else would provide funding to those poor, downtrodden Palestinian children and supply them with fun, Jew-killing action at summer camp?
Who else would stand up to those evil Americans and just say "no" when they want to look after their national interests.
Who else has the guts to thumb their noses at that bigot Uncle Sam as they unload ton after ton of American grown grain, rice, and corn, and hand out billions of American dollars to the vicitims of US imperialism?

You see, the UN cares. The UN loves you. The UN weeps when you are in pain.

APPARENTLY, LITERACY ISN'T A REQUIREMENT FOR A SEAT ON THE SECURITY COUNCIL

I was just checking this and thought I would relate some of the salient points and do a little critiquing:

So, let me get this straight: A presidential decree was passed 10 years after it was sought, by a despotic tyrant to outlaw his favorite weapons and suddenly we should be fawning at his feet for meeting "all that the inspectors demanded."

So Iraq has not been "completely cooperative"? Am I the only person who sees the coorelation between incomplete cooperation and the inability of inspectors to find banned weapons?

For those of you who don't get it, twelve years ago in April, 1991, the "venerable" UN passed resolution 687 that effectively ended the Persian Gulf War.
In this document were laid out demands that Saddam's regime must meet or they would face "serious" consequences.

Here are some interesting points(all emphasis added by author):

Geneva Protocol for the Prohibition of the Use in War of Asphyxiating Poisonous or Other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare

Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on Their Destruction

destruction, removal, or rendering harmless, under international supervision

So basically, Iraq was supposed to make a list within 15 days of the adoption of the resolution, hand it over to the UN, and fully and completely comply with international inspectors; this was to include all stocks of agents and all related subsystems and components and all research, development, support and manufacturing facilities.
Didn't I hear inspectors wondering outloud about missing nerve, chemical, and biological agents?
Please notice that this does not say that Iraq can destroy this crap then tell everybody it's gone. They must destroy it under "international supervision". That means someone has to be watching.

Please note the emphasized areas. I think that everyone agrees that the 12,000 pages of "declarations" submitted by Iraq was pretty much crap.

If Iraq's declarations are inaccurate, how are the weapons inspectors supposed to do their job? Are they supposed to play fucking Blue's Clues or Nancy Drew to find this stuff?

No. Iraq is supposed to "yield possession" of said items.

Resolution 1441 says pretty much the same thing. The UN reiterates its 16 other resolutions regarding Iraq.

"Serious consequences" are to be the result if Iraq does not comply.

I am flabbergasted when I hear weapons inspectors that have been run around in circles for years say that Iraq is not in "material breach" of UN resolution 1441.

The demands are laid out very clearly.

What more do they need?

Or should I say how much less do they need? I get the distinct feeling that these inspectors are not on the up-and-up.

Maybe Saddam and his loving son Uday are buying a little more than palaces and snuff films with his bloody oil money.

Since so many protesters have no idea what they are protesting for or against, they are easy prey for carnivores like myself. However, it is often necessary to hold your nose, shield your eyes, and hang on to that bottle of anti-bacterial soap as one wades through the masses of the unwashed for a plump piece of meat for the grill. Looking at the photos of the latest protests reminds me of those precautions all the more.

Many of the anti-war slogans are inaccurate and just plain stupid. Yes, war is ugly, but not the ugliest...well, read the quote I picked up from the wonderful folks at right-thinking.com (where you can also view the pictures from the latest protests):

No Blood for Oil: Now this might seem like a good one (hey it's worked on other morons before), but there is an inherent fallacy in this slogan. If it were the U.S that had the oil contracts like France, Germany, and Russia, then that might work--in theory--against the U.S. Since we don't, it doesn't. If we wanted Iraq's oil we would've taken it the first time we were there DUMBASS!! Instead, we came home. The only blood being spilled for oil is the blood shed by innocent Iraqis that are murdered by Saddam's corrupt regime.

Israel Is the Problem: Certainly! It's the problem of every Islamic theocracy in the Middle East, and it is definitely the problem of equivocators and apologists for Islam. The only true democratic country in the Middle East (Israel), is beset on all sides by religious fanatics who want nothing but the destruction of Israel and the death of all the Jews. Those signs you social retards are holding up that have Bush and Cheney depicted as Hitler should really be changed: Hitler is alive and well in the hearts of Muslims everywhere. Especially Arafat, whose Palestinian constitution calls for the destruction of Israel and for driving all Jews into the sea. It's certainly a problem for countries like France whose populace doesn't even try to hide its seething anti-semitism. And do I even have to mention Germany?

Just ask these feebs why they are protesting, try to get their arguments. They have none.
